Brief

Arcelor Mittal Belgium, a part of the world's largest steel company, needed to innovate their production processes to meet sustainability goals and improve data management for better efficiency. Their Belgian cluster, with sites in Ghent, Liège, Geel, and Genk, employs 5,000 people and sought to transform raw materials into high-value steel products in a sustainable and innovative manner.
Challenges

We assisted ArcelorMittal Belgium facing several critical challenges, including:
- Decarbonization by 2030: They need to achieve a specific percentage of decarbonization by 2030 to create "the plant of the future". AM is targeting a decarbonization strategy with a significant reduction of CO2 emissions by 2030. Extended digitization plays an important role in this strategy.
- Data Capture Methods: New methods for capturing data were required due to changes in raw material processing in order to further improve the abilities for process data analysis and central reporting.
Solution
